OpusImg is 31 image tools in one workspace. 22 run entirely on your device, 3 mix on-device work with an optional server step, and 6 run on our servers.
That distinction is the point of the product, so it is worth being precise about. Tools marked local run entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly — compressing, resizing, converting, cropping, redacting, reading text out of a scan, or assembling a PDF all happen on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored on our side, and they work the same whether you are signed in or not. That makes them safe for client work, contracts, and anything you would not paste into a stranger’s web form.
Tools marked server are the AI ones — background removal, upscaling, restoration, object removal. OpusImg runs them on our servers and uploads the image. Background removal uses BiRefNet on every plan. We run that work here so the result does not depend on the device. Those jobs consume credits, except Auto Enhance’s colour and light pass, which is free once you are signed in. Generative fill and expand is a Pro action in the editor, not a separate page in this list. Hybrid tools sit between the two: the ordinary work happens locally and only the AI stage is sent on.
